Customer: Jayant Snacks and Beverages Pvt. Ltd.
Industry: Food Processing – Fryums Manufacturing
Application: Extruder Electrical Control Panel Cooling
Cooling Solution: Water-to-Air Panel Heat Exchanger
Cooling Capacity: 5,500 Watts

Background

Jayant Snacks and Beverages Pvt. Ltd. is a growing food processing company engaged in the manufacturing of fryums using high-capacity extrusion lines. The extruder system operates continuously and is controlled through an electrical panel housing VFDs, PLCs, power supplies, and control components that generate significant heat during operation.

Due to high ambient temperatures inside the production area and continuous load conditions, the control panel was experiencing overheating issues, leading to frequent alarms, reduced component life, and occasional production interruptions.

Challenge

  • Excessive heat buildup inside the extruder control panel

  • High ambient temperature and dust-prone food processing environment

  • Need for a sealed cooling solution to prevent ingress of dust, moisture, and oil vapors

  • Requirement for reliable, low-maintenance cooling without introducing ambient air into the panel

Solution Provided

A Water-to-Air Panel Heat Exchanger with a cooling capacity of 5,500 Watts was installed on the extruder control panel. The system utilizes plant utility water to remove heat from the panel enclosure while maintaining complete separation between internal panel air and the external environment.

Key Features of the System

  • Cooling capacity: 5.5 kW

  • Closed-loop internal air circulation

  • No mixing of panel air with ambient air

  • Suitable for dusty and high-temperature industrial environments

  • Compact design with easy panel mounting

  • Low power consumption and minimal maintenance

Implementation

The heat exchanger was mounted on the side of the extruder control panel and connected to the available cooling water line. Internal air circulation ensured uniform heat removal from critical components such as VFDs and power electronics. The system was commissioned without any production downtime.

Results & Benefits

  • Stable panel temperature maintained within safe operating limits

  • Improved reliability of PLCs, VFDs, and electrical components

  • Elimination of dust ingress into the panel enclosure

  • Reduced unplanned downtime and maintenance interventions

  • Extended lifespan of electrical components

  • Improved overall process stability of the extruder line

Conclusion

The installation of a 5,500 W Water-to-Air Panel Heat Exchanger successfully resolved the overheating issues in the fryums extruder control panel at Ayant Snacks and Beverages Pvt. Ltd. The solution provided reliable and efficient thermal management, ensuring uninterrupted production and long-term protection of critical electrical equipment.
